Have you ever started a diet or set a goal for yourself and then it seems like everything is trying to hinder you from reaching that goal? That has happened to me repeatedly through the month of October. I had some great events planned in October to support the food bank, I was trying to get into the mogo of eating healthy and exercising and all of sudden... One night after dinner I begin having severe (I mean I was on the floor in tears) pain. Now you need to know I have a high tolerance for pain so when my husband saw me he immediately said I'm taking you to the emergency room.
When we arrived at the hospital they took me back immediately. I could barely walk from the pain. The nurse was AMAZING! She gave me some kind of medicine in an IV and I finally could breath again. They took a CT scan. As we were waiting on the Doctor and the results, the pain comes back again. The very kind and sweet nurse came again, this time the shot was so strong I couldn't feel my toes, praise God! Not that I couldn't feel my toes but that there was no pain. We found out that I was the 4th person within hours that has came in with kidney stones. I had no idea that kidney stones were that common and I SURE didn't know they were that painful. The stones was 10x7 mm large and it had completely blocked my left kidney. The next day I was sent to pretesting and the following morning at 6 am I was being prepped for surgery. Since the surgery I have 3 stones that still need to pass, hopefully without too much pain.
With this little interruption I was unable to attend some of my scheduled fundraiser events. One thing I was able to do was be there for the NBC youth group service day at the food bank. I will share that story soon and I have some great pictures to share. It was an amazing day!
