The Thanksgiving Holiday *is* tomorrow. My husband and I will be traveling most of the day to visit family in different towns. I feel as if we are on the road more than visiting the people we love. Although, we are so lucky to have such a great family to spend time with, it makes all the travel worth it. I am so excited to see everyone!!
As I started pre-cooking some of the Thanksgiving foods today I began to think of what I am MOST thankful for. Then I thought that (sometimes) it is very hard to be thankful when your life is in a difficult position/place. Have you found yourself having a bad day and you concentrate on the bad in your life verses the good? I actually had to stop myself from doing that today.
I had received an email recently stating I didn't get a job that I had applied for which was disappointing. There have been 30 or 40 jobs that I have applied for over the last 7 months. I am either over or under qualified, it's very frustrating. I keep reminding myself that God has the perfect job for me and he's teaching me patience until the perfect job comes along. I had to remind myself today that there are so many other men and women out there that are also without a job and that at least my husband is able to provide for his family. There are also many starving and homeless families, so how could I feel bad for myself when I am so blessed in life. I thank you God for all my many blessings, for my children, my husband, our families and friends, our church family, and most important of all the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ who died on the cross for ALL of our sins so that we can have ever lasting life. When we thank God for what we have today it opens the opportunity for Him to give us FAVOR for blessings tomorrow.
Psalm 95: 1-3
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the rock of our Salvation. Let us come before him with THANKSGIVING and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all Gods.
Happy
Thanksgiving !!!
