If you ever met me, you would know that I love and adore my children from the bottom of my heart. They are my world! I think this is true for those women on the Real Housewives shows and the average housewives alike. The women of Real Housewives may have the luxury of being able to afford a nanny and a personal assistant, but they do love their children, too. As a matter of fact, I respect Caroline from the Real Housewives of New Jersey. I feel that she and I have similar parenting skills. She seems very involved in her children’s lives. She encourages them to reach their goals. She is firm but fair. This is exactly how I try to raise my children. Having money doesn’t make you a better parent, but it sure does seem to make it easier. Let me dream for a minute. If I had a nanny to run after my kids, a chef to prepare meals throughout the day, a personal assistant to take them to their piano lessons, swim lessons, and soccer games… what would I do with my time? Hmm, clean house? Um, nope, because if I’m dreaming, I am getting a housekeeper, too! Women have to juggle so many responsibilities every single day. Yes, it would be nice to have these people help me, but I would miss the things I love about being a mother. I want to be there for my children,
to support them. Sometimes, I would just like a break, and that’s when I call in reinforcements. Good thing I can call the grandparents in to save the day.

Children cannot control their childhood: they are a product of their environment. Children can’t go to Wal-Mart to pick out good-hearted, loving parents. Oh, I wish it were that simple, because I would have gotten my money back on Medusa many years ago. Ladies, if you were raised in a family that was abusive or addicted to drugs or alcohol, or if you were abandoned, please try to stay strong. You can’t control what happens around you, but you do have complete control over your decision to overcome the situation. Try not to succumb to your surroundings. Please, dig deep inside, and know that you can have a better life ahead. There is hope in every situation, no matter how trying. After I got pregnant with Brandon, I decided right then and there that Iwould treat my baby completely opposite from how my mother treated me. I am not the perfect mother by far. I can say, however, my intentions are with a good heart.
