My family and I watched Dancing with the Stars last night. It's funny to watch together because my daughter and I keep promoting our favorite dancers to win against each other. Luckily, one of my favorites had the first perfect score of 30 plus a second score of 30 for the night. I'm feeling JR may be the winner! Madison is voting for Ricki and Derrick, for obvious reasons since she's 13 years old. I keep telling Madison that I will be on the show in a few years and then she can meet Derrick personally, ha ha.
I wish there were more programs on TV that allowed the family to watch together. Unfortunately, sex and negativity sale in which this limits what we can watch together as a family. I urge TV and Movies to change this! Families not spending time together and bonding is part of the problem with our children these days. If Parents monitor what children watch (Jersey Shore) then maybe we wouldn't have our young men and women thinking it's cool/entertaining to be falling to the floor drunk or sleeping with any person that says "yes". Instead of having shows that teach our children that this behavior is ok we should have programming available that teaches our children to be honorable, productive, and have integrity. I didn't see any of that on MTV during the few moments I watched it.
Maybe if we set the standard then TV & Movies would have to conform to our liking. If we didn't watch these programs they would HAVE to make shows that are appropriate to view.
