There are different religions in this world. You may believe in Scientology, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, or have no affiliation at all. As a child, I went to church occasionally, depending on which family I was living with at that time. I didn’t attend to be involved or become educated in a religion. I was basically just a tagalong. I was introduced to different types of Christian churches. I remember as a child being scared, because the people starting yelling, screaming, and running around the church. I thought there was a fire or something. Even though I attended church, I had no idea why I was there or what I was supposed to be learning.
As an adult, that gave me an open heart and open mind to make my own decision as to which type of religion I was comfortable with. I attend a Christian church, and I pray every day. I chose to believe in God, because he has worked in my life. I am not saying my decision must be the same as everyone else’s; we all have our own journey in life. My cousin Shannon told me once that I was a child in Christ, learning to walk. Shannon has always been like an older sister to me. What she said makes perfect sense, since I am beginning to understand the Bible. I feel strongly that we all have the right to believe as we wish; besides, it’s in the Constitution. If you choose to believe in another religion or none at all, that is completely your prerogative. I can only speak of my own personal walk with spirituality.
